After 2 years of not buying any kit, I need to make a few investments ahead of marathon training!
Camelbaks - my current one chafes badly on my neck unless I am wearing a collared jacket. It is because it doesn't fit tightly enough across the chest. It was suggested I try a womens specific one, but I have noticed there are also running specific ones. The womens ones are intended for cycling (ie you can't get womens running ones). Anyone got any good suggestions? I need at least 2 litres.
Asics appear to be discontinuing / superseding the 2 types I have had recently - the 2160s and the landreths. What are the up to date versions like?
Cheers, Jen

Hi Jan, Happy New Year. Congratulations on getting the marathon place. I had the same problem with my camelbak. I was looking at one by Innov8,the bladder is actually on your waist so guess it would move less as it's closer to the centre of gravity. www.wiggle.co.uk/inov-8-race-pro-extreme-4-hydration-system/There is also a vest with an integrated bladder, but that's probably over engineered! Have you tried Brooks trainers? I've got three pairs and really love them all. Good luck with the training

Try googling inov8 race pro 3 or race pro 4. Both are waist water carriers. I think both fit the 2lt bladder, but you have to buy it separately.

Thanks Neirin!
No, I don't get on with Brooks as the arch support is in a slightly different place a possibly caused my arch to collapse a few years ago.
I had always trained for other marathons with water in bottles on my waist but my back can't tolerate it anyone (possibly post Lydia?). Looking at the camelbaks with support at waist too but wonder whether it is overkill?

Simply run in the mountains where there are streams to drink from and train your body into not needing to drink more than once every hour or two... OK, I'll shut up now ;-)

Thanks all. I got lucky at Cheshire Oaks Ascis and got a pair of 2160s for £46 (tip - ask them to check what they have in stock). They are pink but I'll put up with that for a saving of £25 or so!
I've ordered a new camelback that's a bit more specific to running with a waist strap so it shouldn't bounce around as much. Its for trail running so Rob can use it too - he's finding he's needing quite a lot of liquid on runs in Hong Kong.
