Good News!
The provisional dates for the league races next season are as follows:
Bangor (University Playing Fields as usual)- 5 Oct 13 Llandudno (St David's College as the last 2 years) - 19 Oct 13 Northop (Deeside College - venue used for Welsh Champs 2 years ago and for the NWXCL 2 years ago) - 23 Nov 13 Lilleshall - (National Sports Centre - as usual) - 18 Jan 14 Oswestry - (Marches School as usual) - 8 Feb 14 The first race does not clash with the Sandstone Trail race which is a relief.
Hopefully we can try to get the Borders League dates de-conflicted with these XC dates (nearly impossible but it is worth a try half of the Borders League clubs are also part of the North Wales XC League - Eryri, Buckley, Deeside, us, West Cheshire, Abergele, Prestatyn,Wrexham & Wrecsam Tri). The 2nd XC League race is the day before the Fell Relays in Llanberis.
Get the dates in your diaries.... Simon

The league sponsors are Grand Prix Express, they are a logistics and delivery company PLEASE remember if you have anything which needs moving, large or small, Russell Godwin (V45 Runner with Colwyn Bay and current league Chair) and his staff can be contacted on 01492 545293!
Let's hope for another enjoyable and successful season for Tattenhall Runners - co-ord for XC races this year will be via Mark Smith who will hassle and hustle to get teams out.

Hello - I've tried the website but can't find how far each race is - any ideas? Also do I need to wear spikes or will off roads be OK? Apologies in advance if these questions appear elementary! Thanks, Adele

The girls races are usually just over 3 miles. Off road trainers are fine, I've never had spikes, but no doubt they would be useful in slippy conditions if you chose to invest. Anyone who hasn't done cross country before I would recommend it. Yes the running is hard, but they are very sociable as the girls and boys go separately so there are lots of people to cheer you on.

Thanks for responding Jen. I'll stick with the off roads for now. If I find that I dont like xc racing over 3 miles there won't be much time to think what am I doing here! See you there, Adele
