I'd be happy to Mark as it's not far.

I'll be there as well and happy to drive if anyone wants a lift from Chester.

I'm also in the same camp as the Chambers household. Not really up to racing, still feeling below par with a bug I just can't shake and this blasted allergy. I'm running but stuply slowly

Thanks Ewan, although i'm sorely tempted to cycle home afterwards (alison will bring my bike down). Can you save me a seat in your motor incase the weather is foul!?

The XC season for Tattenhall Runners drew to a close with a bit of bang today at Oswestry with the men's team matching up to Colwyn Bay's runners to pull off the great escape and remain in Div 1! The Ladies were not so lucky and will need to battle back out of Div 2 next season.
It was great to see Marilyn back at a XC, sadly still as a spectator but fired up for the promotion fight that will commence in Sept. Liz R led the ladies in on the (not unexpected) wet and very muddy course around the Marches School and adjoining fields. Sara A was next in followed by Alison Smith, Sue E and Jen C.
For the men, Ali McNay reversed positions with Peter in the last league race finishing 15th with Peter 19th. Ian Lancaster was the next scorer in for the men and then the Mark Smith posse, Mark paced in a pack of Tattenhaller's around the multi-lap course (well until the final corner when Ewan out kicked him to be 4th scorer). Nick H, Mike W, Steve H and Charlie completed the men's squad.
The gazebo was well placed and support came from Jen T, Pete A, Simon E and Rosie and Lydia.
A massive thank you to all those runners who turned out (or thought about turning out - there's always next season!) for this season's 5 North Wales XC League races.....look forward to seeing you again for next season!!

Simon
Can I be the first to say thanks for organising the XC team and cagoling people into running.
The fact we have manged to get so many runners out over the season and, with several performing when injured, to keep the mens team in Div 1 is down to you.
Looking forward to next years battles already (although hopefully no double headers with the BL!).

Here here Ali, was a pleasure to run and it's always more rewarding when part of a team like this. Simon's egging us on to catch the orange vests was an extra spur which worked!
Now to finish this curry and refuel for tomorrow's BL

Yep thanks Simon for getting us all organised for this, it is a fab little series, I really love it! I'm sorry that I was only able to make two races... the first two came a little early for me and then the double header with the BL the other weekend meant missing a third. Like Ali says, fingers crossed that there are few less double headers next year.
And a big well done to the men's team, that's a really fantastic effort, especially after the efforts you exerted cheering us on first - you seemed to be dotted all over the course!
Good luck to all doing the BL today...

I like Simon's motivational style. Non of this "put more effort in and you'll catch him!" business, a more gentle approach: "take it easy as you pass the orange vest ahead of you". By the time I'd worked out what he meant I had caught the orange vest up!
